Food Bank RGV Mobile Drive in La Feria Distributes All Produce to Community

LA FERIA — A recent Food Bank RGV Mobile Drive brought fresh produce directly to residents in need, with organizers reporting that every crate of fruits and vegetables was fully distributed by the end of the event.

The drive, held in La Feria, provided a variety of fresh items including oranges, melons, strawberries, broccoli, carrots and potatoes, helping support local families with access to nutritious food.

The event was made possible through the collaborative efforts of county and city leaders, including Cameron County Judge Eddie Treviño Jr., Commissioner Gus Ruiz, and La Feria city commissioners. Staff from both Cameron County and the City of La Feria also played a key role in organizing and carrying out the distribution.

Organizers expressed their appreciation for the strong partnership and community turnout, noting the success of the drive reflects the continued need for and impact of local food assistance programs.

With all produce distributed, the event highlighted both the generosity of volunteers and the importance of coordinated efforts to address food insecurity across the region.

The Food Bank RGV is the 7th largest food bank in the State of Texas (based on distribution) and 56th in the USA out of the 200 network food banks.
