Lions ready for gridiron matchup with Hawks tonight

LA FERIA — It’s opening day for the Lions at home as they get set to take on the Zapata Hawks for their first game of the season.
The Hawks are coming off a 14-7 win against Crystal City , according to Max Preps.com.
The Lions come into the game ready to begin their District title defense. Kick off is at 7:30 p.m.

These two teams matched up on one year ago, and it ended in a landslide 55-15 win for the Lions.
Last year the Lions went undefeated (11-1, 4-0) until their last game of the season in a second round playoff match up against Liberty Hill.
After putting up 63 points in the Lions first round match up agains La Vernia.
Liberty Hill was able to stop the Lions by only allowing them to score once in the 66-7 loss in the second round of the 2019 playoffs.
